January 2011 is the launching season for our middle school recruitment campaign, led by our President, Ms. Pilar P. Williams. Our school community is getting ready to welcome more outstanding students next year.
STA Science Fair was successfully held on January 21, 2011 with more than 80% of student participation. We congratulate all participants and faculty for making the Third STA Science Fair, another opportunity to celebrate the Sciences! We are also grateful to the faculty of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences of the University of Guam, for judging our students’ projects.
The Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas was celebrated on January 28, 2011 with STA community, and friends from the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Yona, and members of the clergy. We are grateful to the Most Reverend Anthony Sablan Apuron, Metropolitan Archbishop of Agana for his prayers and continued support to STA and to his representative, Msgr. David C. Quitugua, for presiding over the Eucharistic Celebration, along with other members of the clergy.
The Catholic Education Conference was organized on February 4, 2011, and provided meaningful professional development opportunities for the STA faculty and staff.
The second quarter Honor Roll Ceremony was held on February 11, 2011. A total of 41% of the student body received the Principal or President Award for Academic Excellence. Participants of the Third STA Science Fair were also awarded certificates and the top three projects of both categories (Lower and Upper Division) were given trophies in recognition of the quality of their work.
STA students participated in the Walk-Fest on January 30, 2011 at the Skinner Plaza, to promote Catholic Schools Week.
STA Academic Challenge Bowl team is competing for the first time and is counting among the best teams on Guam.
STA Mock Trial Team has the heavy burden of defending its title this year with a majority of freshmen on the team. Regardless of this year’s outcome, STA’s Mock Trial team is making a significant impact on the quality of the competition on Guam.
In sports, STA is taking part of the IIAAG Tennis Tournament for the first time, and is shining like a golden lion.
Students from STA have achieved recognition in areas such as Music or sports (swimming), by winning the “Guam Symphony Young Artist Award” and regional swimming competition in Saipan. Congratulations to Katarina Delos Santos and Pilar Shimizu for their achievements in music and swimming, respectively.

March 4, 2011: STA Guam History Fair (8A to 12P), followed by PTC from 1P to 6P.
March 6, 2011: STA Second Scholarship Golf Tournament, at GICC, starting at noon.
March 11-12, 2011: Junior/Senior hike and retreat.
March 23, 2011: Open house for prospective students.
March 25, 2011: End of the quarter; Beach cleanup and BBQ at Ypao Beach, from 9A to 2P.
