In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the STA family thanks all our donors and benefactors for believing in our common purpose, which is to provide an excellent education to children on Guam of all backgrounds. Because this is also the season of Advent, we need to observe penitence by softening our hearts in preparation of the coming of the Lord.
Award Certificates for Academic Excellence were presented to 79 % of freshmen, 48 % of sophomores, 46 % of juniors and 88 % of seniors.
Two students from STA presented the results of their scientific research, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Golabi from the UOG College of Natural and Applied Sciences, to the 8th Ritsumeikan Super Science Fair in Kyoto, Japan.
The Godspell Cast collaboratively performed two presentations of the musical Godspell on Guam and three shows were held in Hong Kong. Special congratulations to the Godspell Cast from STA and Yew Chung International School, Mr. & Mrs. Nazareno and to Mr. Babia.
A group of thirty three students from Teshima High School of Osaka, Japan visited STA on November 17, 2010 for a student exchange program.
The AP Board has officially approved STA syllabus in World History as AP designation. World History now joins with Calculus AB, Environmental Science, and Biology in the courses with AP designation at STA.
Ms. Williams attended two accreditation workshops with WCEA and WASC, and is leading team STA to its accreditation progress report due in 2012.
The class of 2010 went on a hike and spiritual retreat on November 12-13, 2010. The purpose of this activity is to provide an avenue for physical development and spiritual growth, and also to promote camaraderie and bonding.
St. Thomas Aquinas Youth Choir (Concentus) has resumed its community service by performing at the Cathedral-Basilica each Sunday at 11:30 am.
The ACB team of STA is to be commended, under the coaching of Ms. Paulette Marta and Mr. Tim Smit, for successfully representing our school at local competitions.
STA Mock Trial Team is training for the local competitions under the guidance of Mr. Mojkowski and the Office of attorneys Civille & Tang.
Boys’ JV volleyball team is improving and becoming more competitive. The Lions and Coach Ashley Watanabe deserve our encouragements.
