    Dear All,

Welcome back to school! Our school is growing and we are excited to welcome our new President and CEO, Ms. Pilar Perez Williams, our new English Teacher, Mr. Tim Smit, our returning faculty, staff, students and parents, and our new students and their parents. We thank you for your trust and confidence.

    Summer Highlights

Summer was very busy with a lot of good news:
    - First was the appointment of Ms. Pilar Perez Williams as our new President and CEO by the Archbishop of Agana. Ms. Williams is bringing many years of experience in Catholic Education on Guam and will lead STA Development and Advancement efforts as we continue to grow stronger.

    - Then was the recruitment of Mr. Tim Smit, English and Philosophy Teacher, a graduate from St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota, also an author of a history textbook for the FSM.

    - Students Regina Mandanas and James Losongco, with their advisor Mr. Andrew Mojkowski, participated in the National History Day in Washington DC. Our representatives were awarded the “Outstanding State” for the quality of their research.

    - Our own Pilar Shimizu broke Guam record in swimming

    - Our scholars excelled at the AP exams with an exceptional 100% passing rate with nearly 40% obtaining a perfect score of 5. Kudos to our outstanding Math and Science Department

    - Dr. Odi spent one week in Japan to formalize STA and Tokyo Gakkan Niigata High School agreement to promote international student exchange between the two sister schools.

    - Our first yearbook has been published! Thanks to the yearbook staff and Mr. Skvaril for their dedication and hard work!

    -  Our first planner has been published! Thanks to Mrs. Ventham for endless reviews.

    -  STA was awarded a federal grant to expand its technology program with the future opening of a second computer lab (Mac Lab). Thank you to Mrs. Sampson and the office of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools of Guam.

    - STA second graduating class is on its way to College. We wish the class a successful college experience.

    Student Life

Summer school counted over a dozen of students with the majority earning credits in Chemistry, English, Geometry and Algebra II.

Two students from STA enrolled in the online course in Algebra I with the Horizon Academy, in a partnership with STA. This opens endless opportunities to earn credits in a variety of courses, validated by STA.
